Detailed information about this service: Calpe
Maintenance designed for a residential community
Communal pools require a different plan because more people use them and specific obligations may apply. We review the pool, its opening arrangements, necessary checks and the scope of routine tasks. Pricing is based on a separate proposal rather than applying domestic rates to a shared facility.
Local context and how we plan visits
Pools in the same town do not all need the same treatment. We assess the property and equipment before confirming a service.
Calpe has many residential developments across its municipal area. The town council specifically names Maryvilla, Gran Sol, Cometa and sections of La Canuta. When arranging pool care, we ask for the development name and the entrance to the property because “Calpe” alone tells us little about access. We also distinguish a private pool from one shared by different households, as the latter needs its own assessment of duties and checks.
Exact location
Tell us the street or development, not just the town.
Keys and access
We agree access, timings, keys and a contact person.
Pool and filtration
Send dimensions, photos and equipment details.
Start with the pool, not a generic checklist
Before agreeing a routine, we look at the pool size, safe access, filtration equipment and expected use. A year-round home and a holiday property may need very different attention. This initial assessment helps us plan visits sensibly, identify practical constraints and explain exactly what falls within the agreed price before work begins.
Understanding the starting condition
An initial review distinguishes a pool that only needs ordinary care from one requiring corrective work first. We consider the appearance of the water, accumulated debris, filtration and areas where leaves or sand collect. If the water is green, the pump is not operating or there is substantial neglect, a separate quotation may be necessary before regular maintenance can start.
Collecting leaves and floating debris
Leaves, insects and wind-blown material do not remain at the surface forever. They may sink or reach the filtration system. We use suitable tools to clear the surface and inspect places where dirt gathers, particularly around trees and landscaped gardens. Regular debris removal limits later problems, although it never replaces water checks and equipment inspections.
Cleaning the floor carefully
Sand, plant matter and fine dust settle on the floor. The cleaning approach depends on the amount of dirt and the equipment available; careless vacuuming can simply stir particles back into the water. Heavy deposits or unsuitable debris may require special work. Our aim is to clean the surface without putting unnecessary strain on the filter or pump.
Walls, steps and the waterline
Routine cleaning may include accessible walls, steps, corners and the waterline where residue builds up. We select tools that are appropriate for the finish rather than using aggressive methods indiscriminately. Persistent staining is not necessarily ordinary dirt and may call for a separate diagnosis or treatment, discussed with the owner before anything additional is carried out.
Skimmer and pump baskets
Skimmer baskets and pump prefilters collect much of the material washed towards the filtration circuit. Checking and clearing them helps water circulate properly. We also pay attention to obvious changes in water flow or level. If a basket repeatedly fills unusually quickly, or equipment behaves unexpectedly, we report the observation instead of assuming that routine cleaning alone will solve it.
Filtration and circulation
Clear-looking water depends partly on effective circulation. We visually check the equipment for signs of leakage, obstruction or unusual pressure and carry out ordinary operations when included and suitable. Replacing equipment, diagnosing electrical faults or repairing the plumbing are separate services requiring approval and, where appropriate, a qualified specialist.
The basics of balanced water
Appearance is only one indicator of water condition. Appropriate pH and disinfectant levels need monitoring according to the pool and its use. Readings inform routine dosing and may reveal a persistent imbalance. Adding more chemicals is not always the answer: poor circulation, heavy bathing loads or a technical fault may be contributing to the problem.
Who provides chlorine tablets?
Our arrangement is explicit: the customer supplies chlorine tablets suitable for their installation. Terranova applies them as part of ordinary care when their use is appropriate. We supply routine pH adjusters, algaecides and other standard maintenance chemicals within the agreed service. Exceptional treatment products and intensive corrective work are quoted separately before use.
Chemicals do not replace physical cleaning
A pool can be chemically treated yet still contain settled dust, leaves or a dirty waterline. Effective care combines physical cleaning, circulation and proportionate water treatment. We do not add the same quantities by habit or mix incompatible products. If a problem keeps coming back, we investigate the likely cause rather than repeatedly concealing the symptoms.
Summer visits and increased use
For private pools our summer period runs from 15 May through 30 September. Warmer temperatures, longer daylight hours and additional swimmers can increase the need for attention. Depending on the agreed package, six to eight visits per month are planned during this period. Any additional attendance, such as after unusually heavy use, is discussed separately.
Care outside the summer period
From 1 October to 14 May, the ordinary private-pool schedule provides for one visit a week. A pool may still gather leaves, dust or rainwater even when nobody swims. Regular attention helps identify changes ahead of the next busy season, provided safe access and functioning equipment are available.
When regular cleaning is not enough
Very green water, extensive algae, a pool left unused for months or a serious equipment problem may need more than an ordinary visit. We do not promise to absorb that work into a standard monthly fee. The starting problem, proposed steps and additional price should be explained first. Routine maintenance can then begin once the water and installation are suitable.
How a green pool is recovered
Recovery begins by considering why the water deteriorated and whether the filtration system can run effectively. Corrective cleaning and treatment may take several stages, depending on the actual condition. We cannot guarantee that every pool will be restored in a set number of hours. Swimming should not resume simply because the water looks blue; appropriate water quality matters.
Annual care versus summer-only care
Regular private-pool maintenance starts at €99 per month plus VAT for pools up to 32 square metres, subject to the agreed annual payment arrangement. Summer-only service costs more because visits are concentrated into a shorter period. Neither option is intended to impose a mandatory minimum stay; cancellation and refund terms for advance payments must be stated before agreement.
Shared pools require a different proposal
Pools used by multiple households call for a review of bathing load, access times, supervision needs and the applicable health requirements. A domestic maintenance tariff cannot simply be transferred to a residential community. Any quotation should specify the visits, checks and services included and distinguish the community’s responsibilities from those assigned to the contractor.
What to send for a quotation
Please provide the municipality or development, approximate length and width, a recent photo and any information about filtration. We also need to know whether the pool is private or communal, how often it is used and whether a problem is already visible. These details help us give a realistic estimate and decide whether an initial visit is needed.
What standard maintenance excludes
An ordinary fee does not cover new pumps, replacement parts, leak repairs, major refurbishment or intensive recovery of neglected water. Those are separate tasks with their own scope and price. If an item is not explicitly listed, we clarify it in writing rather than relying on assumptions that may lead to disagreement later.
Frequently asked questions
Can you confirm service in Calpe?
We accept enquiries for Calpe. Before agreeing regular visits, we check the exact address, access and route availability. We do not guarantee a visit before confirming the arrangements.
Does the location in Calpe change the price?
Quotes reflect size, use, pool condition, cleaning requirements and access. The area name on its own is not enough. Repairs and intensive recoveries are quoted separately.
Which photos should I send from Calpe?
A general view of the pool, one photo of the filtration system and pictures of any green water or visible dirt. We also need an approximate size and exact location.
Is there a minimum contract term?
There is no mandatory minimum stay. Cancellation and refund conditions for advance payments are explained before you agree.
What details are useful for a quote?
The location, approximate dimensions, photographs, pool type and information on the filter equipment.
